Ahmadinejad prays at the UN for the speedy arrival of the ‘Twelfth Imam’ – do you know what that means?

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at the U.N. on Thursday

“Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made yet another inflammatory speech to the U.N. General Assembly on Thursday (September 23, 2010). He began by praying, “O God, hasten the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi and grant him good health and victory and make us his followers and those who attest to his righteousness.”

Joel C. Rosenberg explains the significance of this prayer:

Rosenberg said, “Imam al-Mahdi is another name for the ‘Twelfth Imam’ or the ‘Hidden Imam.’ Shia Muslims believe this Islamic messiah will come at the End of Days to destroy Judeo-Christian civilization as we have known it, force infidels to convert or be executed, and will set up a one-world Islamic government known as the ‘caliphate.’

Ahmadinejad believes the way to ‘hasten’ the Twelfth Imam’s coming is to annihilate the U.S. and Israel. This would bring about the ‘victory’ that Ahmadinejad prayed for on American soil.”

Muslim men burn Bibles and Hymnals

I’m sure you have already seen this story on the news, carried by all the major broadcasters and by all the major newspapers, right?

No?

Hmmm.

Another shocking attack against Pakistani Christians has taken place, this time by a group of unidentified Muslim men who attacked the Nasri Pentecostal Church in Shah Latif Town, Karachi.

The unprovoked violence took place at around midnight on Saturday, September 18, 2010, when a group of men cut the locks of the church and then, once inside, went on an orgy of violence.

They piled up Bibles, hymnals (including Books of the Psalms), and musical instruments and then set them on fire and fled the scene of their crime.

Sadiq said that he “condemned the attack by the Muslim suspects” saying that “if the reverse had occurred, and Christians had attacked a Mosque, the repercussions could have been terrible and extremely violent.”

Commenting on the possible motive for the attack, Sadiq said that “it might have been a reaction to the Rev. Terry Jones’ threat to burn copies of the Koran (Qur’an), viewed as holy by all Muslims, on 9/11, at his church in Gainesville, Florida. Fortunately, that was called off at the last moment, possibly sparing the lives of thousands of Christians in the Islamic World. One media report said, “The wave of fear and anger

Woman stoned for being seen alone with a man

The woman was thought to have been executed because she was seen out with a man

A woman lies tied to the ground as a group of men gather round her, repeatedly throwing stones at her.

She appears to plead for help but despite her cries, they continue to rain stones down on her until she lies still.

Disturbing pictures today released to ABC news purport to show Taliban militants stoning a woman to death in north-west Pakistan.

Stoning is a routine punishment for adultery in Iran and Saudi Arabia. Under the rule of the Taliban however, being seen alone with a man is sufficient crime alone to warrant the death penalty.

Hear that? You can almost hear the crickets, the silence, where are all the Women’s Rights groups? Where is the outrage? Why are they not publicly demanding for accountability? Because they are afraid.

Terrorism works, evidently.

UK Home Secretary, banned Zakir Naik, Muslim television preacher, from lecture tour

“Mrs May, the Home Secretary, banned Zakir Naik, an Indian television preacher, from a lecture tour in the UK in mid-June, saying his presence “would not be conducive to the public good”.

“Coming to the UK is a privilege not a right and I am not wiling to allow those who might not be conducive to the public good to enter the UK.”

Mrs May cited reported comments from Dr Naik such as “every Muslim should be a terrorist” and, on Osama Bin Laden, that “if he is fighting the enemies of Islam, I am for him” when she decided to ban him.

…on 16 June, Mrs May banned Dr Naik from the UK, two days before he was due to arrive. She said: “Numerous comments made by Dr Naik are evidence to me of his unacceptable behaviour.

UK Terrorist Andrew Ibrahim: turned in by the Muslim community

Muslim convert Andrew Ibrahim Photo: PA

Ibrahim, a Muslim convert who changed his first name to Isa, was found guilty on Friday of trying to launch a bomb attack using a homemade suicide vest.

Detective Superintendent Nigel Rock, the senior investigating officer, said: “He was unknown to us, the first thing we knew about his device was from the Muslim community. All of Bristol should be grateful to them for providing information. Without a doubt they saved people from serious injury and worse.”

Det Chief Supt Kevin Hazell, head of the South West Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Unit, said the case was a success for the government’s Prevent strategy which has involved encouraging local mosques to understand the challenges of fighting terrorism and to challenge is extremist views.

Officials at the mosque, in central Bristol, told the Daily Telegraph it was a “sensitive subject” and they had decided not to comment.

Ibrahim is thought to be one of the few examples of a “self-radicalising” terrorist who downloaded videos by the extremist preachers Abu Hamza and Omar Bakri Mohammed.

The following month Nicky Reilly, another Muslim convert walked into the Princesshay shopping centre in Exeter and tried to blow himself up. He is serving life in prison.

One basic truth can be used as a foundation for a mountain of lies

“One basic truth can be used as a foundation for a mountain of lies, and if we dig down deep enough in the mountain of lies, and bring out that truth, to set it on top of the mountain of lies; the entire mountain of lies will crumble under the weight of that one truth, and there is nothing more devastating to a structure of lies than the revelation of the truth upon which the structure of lies was built, because the shock waves of the revelation of the truth reverberate, and continue to reverberate throughout the Earth for generations to follow, awakening even those people who had no desire to be awakened to the truth.”

Muslim moderates want Wahhabi groups reined in

“Moderate Muslims in Macedonia are urging the government and the international community to crack down on radical Wahhabi groups on the rise in the country, the Associated Press reports.

The head of Macedonia’s official Islamic Religious Community, Suleyman Rexhepi, says he wants “radical measures” against the Wahhabis by the government, the U.S. and the European Union.

The radical brand of Islam embraced by al-Qaida and the Taliban is seen as gaining a foothold in the Balkans, and Rexhepi claimed Monday that the sect wants to “to distort (Macedonia’s) image.”

Rexhepi’s group is engaged in a power struggle with the Wahhabis, who are thought to control five mosques in the capital, Skopje. Most of Macedonia’s ethnic Albanian minority — a quarter of the population of 2.1 million — are Muslims.

Artists attacked in Turkey: “When Ideas Become Crime”

“Burak Arikan, writes from Istanbul that he, the artists, and guests at galleries in the Tophane district of Istanbul were systematically attacked by thugs last week. According to Burak, there was blood “everywhere.” From the press release prepared by the beaten artists:

“In an organized attack on art galleries in the Tophane neighbourhood of Istanbul, guests attending exhibition openings were physically assaulted in a lynch attempt by a gang of 40-50 people. The audience subjected to this atmosphere of total terror featured artists, academicians, students, writers, local and international journalists and cultural attaches from consulates. The attackers used knives, batons, broken bottles and pepper spray. The injured include Polish, Dutch, German and English guests.”

Once again, actions vs. words: the words say, “Islam is peaceful and tolerant” while the actions say, “Islam is violent and intolerant”.

Which carries more weight for you? The words or the actions?

You advocate freedom of expression? How about this kind of expression, assaulting people with knives, batons, broken bottles and pepper spray?

If you value freedom you must resist Islam. The more power Islam gains in a society, the less freedom there is in that society.

When will we start holding Islamic teachers responsible for teaching others to act with violence and  to view other religions with disdain and spite?
