What’s so darn great about Islam?

by Burt Prelutsky

“Between Sept. 12, 2001, and January 2009, George Bush and Condoleezza Rice spent so much time telling us what a wonderful, peaceful religion Islam is, I kept expecting them to convert…

…For good measure, when Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, whose business cards carried the message “For a Good Time, Dial 1-800 Jihad,” murdered 13 Americans down at Fort Hood, Obama told us not to leap to the conclusion that the major’s religion had anything to do with the fact that he was hollering “Allah Akbar” during the massacre…

We also have American cities spending secular tax dollars to build foot baths for Muslims.

We have colleges turning a blind eye to Islamic students bullying Jewish students and intimidating guest speakers, especially if they’re Israeli diplomats; and we have the ACLU, those moral pygmies who have raised self-righteousness to an art form, defending Muslims on all fronts, while simultaneously attacking Christian symbols with a ferocity not witnessed since the Wicked Witch of the West declared war on Dorothy and her friends.”

Will Radical Extremists [i.e. Muslim Brotherhood] Rise to Power in Egypt?

“…there is growing consensus that a radical extremist group known as the Muslim Brotherhood could be in position to take control of the Egyptian government. So what exactly does that mean for America, Israel and the world?

Well, all you have to do is look at the hate-filled words of the leader of that group, Mohammed Badi. Now this is a man who fully supports both Sharia law and Jihad, and he’s called for the destruction of Israel and Zionism worldwide.

In recent days, the White House seems indifferent towards the Muslim Brotherhood and has been nothing short of reckless.

Their motto is, “Allah our objective, the prophet our leader, the Koran our law, Jihad our way and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

In all the hype about “freedom” for Egypt, do not forget that this is still a Muslim nation. What does that mean? Freedom to enforce Sharia law?

“Egyptians support Sharia law.

For example, 84 percent say that apostates, those who forsake Islam, should face the death penalty,
77 percent say thieves should have their hands cut off.
54 percent say men and women should be segregated in the workplace that’s the views of the people of Egypt.”

Sayyid Qutb: The Muslim Brotherhood’s ‘intellectual godfather’

Sayyid Qutb lived in the United States from 1948 to 1950.

By Omar Sacirbey

“Is the jazz standard “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” a heartwarming ode to winter romance or the worst example of American hedonism?

After hearing the song at a Colorado church dance in the 1940s, Egyptian exchange student Sayyid Qutb viewed the song as a moral indictment of the West – views that some say could now shape the future of Egypt.

After returning to Egypt, Qutb emerged as the intellectual godfather of Egypt’s banned Muslim Brotherhood, a movement that now appears poised to assume a larger role in Egyptian society, possibly including whatever government takes root after the fall of President Hosni Mubarak.

The massive demonstrations across Egypt have revived interest – and debate – over Qutb’s impact on the Brotherhood, and whether his anti-Western views that were shaped by his time in America will find renewed favor in a more democratic Egypt.”

What the west hopes for from Islam, and Egypt

Sadly, the violent followers of Islam seem to very easily overwhelm those who are moderate. We can only hope that more and more moderate Muslims are able to make real changes in their religion. The history of such followers is grim, however – many times moderate Muslims have simply been killed by Islamists.

That is why we must aggressively, firmly push back against those who would use force to bully others into submission. Protecting peace and freedom is not a passive activity. If you are passive you will be over-powered, in spite of good intentions or noble values.

Most of us in the West are not against other religions, we might not agree, might even think a religion is silly, but we are willing to let people believe what they choose to believe – however, we do not take kindly to anyone forcing their beliefs on others or mistreating others in any way just because they have different beliefs. Unfortunately, Islam has a long track record of that kind of violence and suppression.

Islam does not have to assimilate, but we will not let it dominate.

Yes, you could point to various examples of “tolerance” in the Muslim world, but that is not the same as treating everyone equally. Even where other religions are “tolerated” by Muslim-majority societies, they are still treated as second-class citizens.

This from a recent witness in Egypt:

“I noticed one placard amidst the demonstrators in Cairo. The young woman’s sign read: “I am Muslim. I am against terrorism. I am against destruction.”

I hope that Egypt’s moderate Muslims can join hands with many Christians there and find an expression of government that allows true freedom of conscience and religion along with necessary fiscal and social reform.”

That is what the world needs from followers of Islam; we need them to stand up for true freedom of conscience and religion. We don’t think it is very likely, and it would take great courage on the part of moderate Muslims, because more moderate Muslims are bound to die from Islamists pushing their “pure” version of Islam, but we can still hope and work for progress, in spite of the challenges.

Islamic immigrants could possibly flood the U.S.

“An Israeli author and expert on the Middle East is warning Americans that Islamic immigrants could possibly flood the U.S. as a result of the events taking place in Egypt.

Israel National News recently reported that the Obama administration has decided to allow Islamic professor Tariq Ramadan to enter the United States. Ramadan, an Egyptian who currently lives in Switzerland, is a leading member of Europe’s Muslim Brotherhood branch and is the grandson of the movement’s founder. He was invited to teach at the University of Notre Dame in 2004, but the Bush administration revoked his visa because of donations he made to a blacklisted charity.

Pakistan and the Mumbai Attacks: The Untold Story

“…Hundreds of miles away in Pakistan, a youthful terrorist chief named Sajid Mir was preparing a different sort of religious mission. With the support of Pakistan’s intelligence service, Mir had spent two years using a Pakistani-American businessman named David Coleman Headley to conduct meticulous reconnaissance on Mumbai, according to investigators and court documents.

He had selected iconic targets and the Chabad House, a seemingly obscure choice, but one that ensured that Jews and Americans would be casualties…”

Here is your “Religion of Peace”!!!

Islam-Ahmadiyya preaches and practices LOVE FOR ALL HATRED FOR NONE but “pure” Islamists don’t accept Islam-Ahmadiyya as being legitimate, so they persecute them, kill them and burn their mosques.  Why? because the Islam-Ahmadiyya group does not believe Muhammad was the final prophet, so the “pure” Muslims, see the members of this Muslim sect as infidels and to these Islamists, the “unbelievers” deserve death.

JAKARTA, Indonesia — “Indonesia’s president ordered an investigation Monday into an attack on members of a minority Muslim sect after a gruesome video emerged of a mob beating several victims to death with machetes, sticks and rocks.

About 1,500 people stormed a house in Banten province on Sunday to stop 20 Ahmadiyah followers from worshipping.

The most disturbing clip, posted on YouTube, showed assailants repeatedly pounding two victims – who appeared to be dead – with heavy sticks.

A policeman came to the scene but his screams of “stop” were almost inaudible among dozens who shouted “Allahu Akbar” or God is Great.

The Ahmadiyah, thought to have 200,000 followers in Indonesia, are considered deviant by many Muslims and are banned in many Islamic countries because they believe that Muhammad was not the final prophet.”
