Who’s Funding CAIR?

Fred Thompson has a question few others seem willing to ask:

I’ve talked before about the Council on American-Islamic Relations — most recently because it filed that lawsuit against Americans who reported suspicious behavior by Muslims on a U.S. Airways flight. Better known just as CAIR, the lobbying group has come under a lot of scrutiny lately for its connections to terror-supporting groups. This time, though, The Washington Times has uncovered some very good news about the group.

For years, CAIR has claimed to represent millions of American Muslims. In fact, they claim to represent more Muslim in American than … there are in America. This has alarmed Americans in general as the group often seems to be more aligned with our enemies than us — which isn’t surprising as it spun off from a group funded by Hamas.

CAIR attempts to close down public debate

CAIR attempts to close down public debate about itself and Islam in several ways, starting with a string of lawsuits against public and private individuals and several publications. CAIR’s Rabiah Ahmed has openly acknowledged that lawsuits are increasingly an “instrument” for it to use.

“Islam divides humans into Muslims or non-Muslims. You should be told to become a Muslim or you should be attacked and killed.” – Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Hirsi Ali wrote the script for the movie Submission that Theo Van Gogh – the movie that he was killed for creating. He was shot, his throat was slit and a note was stabbed to his chest – because he dared to criticize Islam.

“There’s really nothing wrong with being an infidel, because ‘infidel’ has now become equal to science, to progress, to humanity and to freedom” – Ayaan Hirsi Ali

JUAN WILLIAMS: I Was Fired for Telling the Truth

“Yesterday NPR fired me for telling the truth. The truth is that I worry when I am getting on an airplane and see people dressed in garb that identifies them first and foremost as Muslims.

This is not a bigoted statement. It is a statement of my feelings, my fears after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 by radical Muslims. In a debate with Bill O’Reilly I revealed my fears to set up the case for not making rash judgments about people of any faith. I pointed out that the Atlanta Olympic bomber — as well as Timothy McVeigh and the people who protest against gay rights at military funerals — are Christians but we journalists don’t identify them by their religion.

And I made it clear that all Americans have to be careful not to let fears lead to the violation of anyone’s constitutional rights, be it to build a mosque, carry the Koran or drive a New York cab without the fear of having your throat slashed. Bill and I argued after I said he has to take care in the way he talks about the 9/11 attacks so as not to provoke bigotry.”

Big Shocker: Double-Crossing Suicide Bomber was loyal to Islamists, not the CIA

“It was among the greatest single days of loss in CIA history. On December 30, 2009, a suicide bomber detonated on a base in eastern Afghanistan, killing seven CIA officers and Blackwater contractors who thought he would take them to al Qaeda’s leadership.

Now, the agency has determined what went wrong: it didn’t check out the killer thoroughly enough to determine his true loyalty.”

Zachary Adam Chesser, a.k.a. “Abu Talhah Al-Amreeki” could get up to 15 years for providing support to terrorists

Chesser spent his years at Oakton High School trying out a variety of identities, friends said, before transforming himself into the bearded, robed young man who was arrested by the FBI last week for allegedly trying to join an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group in Somalia.

“Trey Parker and Matt Stone can exhale now. Zachary Adam Chesser, the 20-year old who threatened the two South Park creators online for depicting the prophet Muhammad in a bear costume, will plead guilty to supporting terrorism this afternoon in a Virginia court.

A prolific blogger, Chesser used handles like Abu Talhah and Abu Talhah al-Amrikee to encourage sympathizers “to actually go and fight against the disbelievers” on a variety of blogs and message boards. Acting on his impulses, he attempted twice this year to travel to Somalia to join the Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab, but his online threats landed him on a no-fly list. FBI agents arrested him in July.”

“… after Chesser started college, he grew a beard, began wearing a jalabiya, a traditional robe, and returned to the high school to lecture MSA members, revealing his increasingly rigid view of Islam.

“It was about dress, about guys not wearing shorts above the knee and girls not wearing tight pants and covering their hair,” said Al-Khalaf, who described Chesser as “a lot more non-accepting.”

His old friends were shocked at the transformation. After Chesser told MSA members that they would go to hell if they didn’t follow his clothing guidelines, Al-Khalaf said, “everyone was just looking at each other, and I made a comment like, ‘Well then, we’re all screwed.’ ”

By then, Chesser was worshiping at the Islamic Center Northern Virginia in Fairfax.

Chesser planned to go to Somalia via Kenya but was thwarted because the mother of his wife confiscated her passport.

He’d already been exchanging e-mails with U.S.-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Aulaqi, who has been linked to last year’s massacre at Fort Hood and an attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound plane on Christmas Day…

Chesser began espousing increasingly militant views online.”

Texas: Jordanian Sentenced in Bomb Plot

By JAMES C. McKINLEY Jr.

A Jordanian man who tried to blow up a Dallas skyscraper during an F.B.I. sting was sentenced Tuesday to 24 years in prison by Judge Barbara M. G. Lynn of Federal District Court.

The man, Hosam Maher Husein Smadi, 20, had overstayed a tourist visa, married an American woman and began dabbling in radical Islamic politics. In September 2009, undercover F.B.I. agents drew Mr. Smadi into a fake plot to blow up the 60-story Fountain Place building.

Mr. Smadi drove a truck that he believed carried an explosive device into a garage under the building and activated the false bomb, according to court documents. Facing life in prison, Mr. Smadi agreed to plead guilty to attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction in exchange for a reduced sentence.
