Diverting attention from radical Islam in the US

I predict you will be seeing many more articles like this, trying to divert attention from the investigation of the threat radical Islam poses in the US.

The article is not really about a militia group, it’s an attempt to say, “Those violent Christians, they need to be watched too!” and to minimize, downplay the threat posed by Islam.

This is not to excuse any violent plot of any kind. But do not fall for the ploy of “all groups have their violent extremists so we can’t just look at Islam.”

The fact is that Islamists have a much longer, much more violent record of not only killing but suppressing anyone who does not believe as they do – once they have the numbers to force their will on a culture.

Here’s the basics of the militia story, pay particular attention to that last paragraph – it’s what the whole article is about, trying to pull the heat off of Muslim Americans.

“According to the criminal complaint, the militia was supposed to “respond to attempts to arrest or kill [Cox] by responding against state court or law enforcement targets with twice the force and consequences as happened to him or his family. If he was arrested, two state targets would be ‘arrested’ (kidnapped). If he was killed, two state targets would be killed. If his house was taken, two state target houses would be burned.”

The arrests come almost exactly a year after the arrests of a Michigan-based Christian militia group, which also intended to target law-enforcement officials.

And yet House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.) refused to expand his investigation of domestic radicals to include anyone other than Muslim Americans.”

This is similar to the tactic of “Islam is just another religion” – except that no other religion teaches what Islam teaches and advocates that level of suppression and violence.

It’s like the difference between throwing a bullet and shooting it out of a gun.
